Hello. Sanibonani.

Welcome to The Shot Left Board Game.

This is your chance to be a taxi champion. Plan routes, pick up passengers, avoid trouble on the road. Then get back to your taxi rank first – all while learning over 130 essential isiZulu words and sentences.

The Sho't Left Board Game is a way for kids and grown-ups to be South African together.

Yoh that's cool.

Sho't left  is an abbreviation of 'short left'. Across South Africa, taxi passengers call out “sho't left” to indicate to the driver that they want to get out at the next street. It is symbolic of the entrepreneurial and make-do culture of the taxi industry. It is also a nod to the linguistic flexibility of so many people in South Africa. This is something we hope to nurture with this game.
