How to
Play the Game

The game is played by 2-4 players, ages 8 and up. You can play in teams if there are more people.

There are fifty rectangular road cards that have English words and isiZulu words with roads on them.

At the start, the cards are placed English word side up around the edges of the board so every player has access to them.

When it’s your turn there are 3 steps:

  1. Translate a word: Scan all the up-facing English words on the cards and select a word on a card. Guess or translate the word into isiZulu.

  2. Connect the roads: The cards have different roads on them. If your translation is correct, place that card on the board. When placed they make a route that your taxi can drive on.

  3. Drive your taxi: Drive your taxi along the connected roads. When you have reached a taxi rank pick up your passenger. Once you have all 3 passengers, watch out for Sho't Left tokens, and get back to your taxi rank first.

The game allows for stronger players and weaker players so that everyone is equal. This means that parents can play with older kids and with younger ones. It also means it can be used at different grades in schools.

Simply put: Translate / guess words, plan routes, pick up passengers,
avoid trouble on the road, and get back your taxi rank first.
